  The Westphal family, passionate about the world of agriculture and especially wine, has settled in the Gers in Réans, 10 minutes from Eauze. Producers of Armagnac and Gers wine, they open the doors of their domain to curious visitors or amateurs, and share their passion with warmth and kindness. The natural stone cellar dominates the 200 ha of the estate, with the latest technology, in the search for excellence and constant quality. The building is modern with large, bright windows, offering a breathtaking view of the 8-hectare park with century-old trees and lush vegetation. Take advantage of a visit to discover the residence dating from 1760, part of which was built on the site of a former chapel. The setting is atypical and the estate unusual with methods and traditions from Alsace and the Gers. The store is the final step to taste their wines and Armagnacs, elaborated with love and passion by the Westphal family.

We were greeted by a very friendly young lady, who spoke excellent English, gave us a tour around the chateau and explained the process of wine and armagnac production. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the wine and spirit produced at the vineyard. Even our 15 year olds were taken in by the stories. She also educated us on the difference between wine and spirit tasting. I never liked spirits neat but thanks to the education I discovered the pleasure of drinking it just so. We were asked to pay €10 per head but with wine purchase, the fee was wavered. Even if we did not purchase anything, it would have been worth it, as the lady gave up 2 hours of her time for our small group of 5 and treated us to fantastic tasting session at the end. It was an unforgettable experience.

We have just had a private visit to this cellar, in fact there were only 2 of us. Thank you for this great visit and your explanations without forgetting the tasting. We will keep wonderful memories of the Château de Saint Aubin.
