Imagine an open-air museum in the heart of Bas-Armagnac. Nearly 5,000 objects, tools, machines and household items immerse you in the daily life of rural life at the beginning of the last century !

On a fully sheltered route adapted for people with reduced mobility , learn more about the agricultural world, the cultivation of vines, the production of wine and Armagnac. Also visit the workshops of the weaver, the cooper, the clog maker, the carpenter, the joiner or even that of the blacksmith. The brewer's house, a modest house that housed the agricultural worker, invites you to enrich your knowledge of local constructions in cob and half-timbering. In addition, the beautiful residence from 1850 presents the bourgeois interior of a mansion.

More than a conservatory of objects frozen in time, the museum is a living place for the exchange and sharing of artisanal know-how, Gascon traditions and the Occitan language. All year round, activities are organized for young and old alike.
Do you remember the sound of the hammer on the anvil, the gestures of the basket maker making his basket, the ancestral work of wool to transform the fleece ? During the summer, many artisans await you to introduce you to their craft and introduce you to workshops !

The Occitan language is also in the spotlight during the museum's evenings: traditional tales set to music, Gascon ball, polyphony concert, etc.

Awesome 😎👍 The tour starts under the characteristic bell tower which has an exciting history! I appreciated the evolution of the different tools, and the abundance of references, whether for work in the vineyards, distillation (Armagnac), barrel making; in the fields (harvesters, plowing equipment, grain processing); + clog factory; carpenters' tools, lumberjacks etc. The brewer's house, completely rebuilt, the forge, the weaver's workshop🤩 and the house where you can discover 1 bedroom, the kitchen and the period dining room, to finish with the temporary "John Deere" exhibition. Really, to do for a small sum.
