Family-run cannery in Barran – Foie gras, confits and local specialties from the Gers region
Looking for a cannery in the Gers to bring back authentic products or offer a gourmet basket? We recommend the Ferme de l'Aurios, a family farm that passionately perpetuates the gastronomic traditions of the Southwest.
On site, the farmers control every stage of production, from raising ducks fed on whole-grain corn to processing them in their artisanal cannery. This expertise guarantees recipes made from farm products, respecting traditional methods.
The shop offers a wide selection of local products : duck foie gras, rillettes, pâtés, duck confit, cassoulets, garbures, civets, daubes and many other specialties that make the Gers gastronomy famous.
You can find these products directly at the Ferme de l'Aurios shop in Barran, open every day, as well as at their shop in Mirande, open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday mornings. Special openings are also offered during the summer season to make your shopping easier.
La Ferme de l'Aurios also has a presence at numerous markets and food fairs throughout the Gers region all year round. You can find them at the markets in Mirande, Tillac, Bassoues, and Lupiac, as well as at the gourmet markets in Lectoure and Lavardens. At the end of the year, they also participate in several Christmas markets and food fairs in different regions of France, allowing them to share the flavors of Gers far beyond the department's borders.
Depending on the season, it is also possible to order fresh products from the farm: duck breasts, aiguillettes, fresh foie gras, duck hearts or whole ducks, available to order from the end of September to the end of May on their website: www.fermedelaurios.fr
