Directions Pitoux House - Gascon tradition & family foie gras since 1960

About

  • English
    • Maison Pitoux is a family story that began in 1960 in the heart of Gascony, with my grandmother Denise. Like many at the time, she started force-feeding geese and ducks to sell at local foie gras markets. Back then, it was only a seasonal activity, from mid-October to mid-March. It was only later that she specialized in making foie gras preserves, confits, and pâtés. Her daughter, Mireille, took over the business in 1989, and I joined the family adventure in 2008.

We are the guardians of our Gascon flavors and traditions, which we are passionate about sharing and passing on. Our animals are raised outdoors, fattened with whole corn, and we process our ducks in our cannery following our "grandmother's" recipes—but shh, it's a secret!

We welcome you to the farm every afternoon from 2pm to 6pm. You can also find us at the markets in Eauze and Barbotan.

Don't hesitate to visit and enjoy the authentic setting, in a location protected by Adasea (ponds and the Douze river) for its orchids and tortoises. Recognized as a remarkable site, it is listed in the Armagnac & d'Artagnan Tourist Office's "Grand Vert" section. By bike, it's also part of the Evelo cycling routes offered by Bee in Lupiac, with two pleasant picnic tables for a peaceful lunch break in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle.
