La Maison Pitoux is a family story that began in 1960 in the heart of Gascony, with my Grandmother Denise. She began, like many at that time, to force-feed geese and ducks in order to sell them at the local fattening markets. At the time, it was only a seasonal activity from mid-October to mid-March. It was only later that she specialized in making canned foie gras, confits and pâtés. Mireille, her daughter, took over in 1989 and it was in 2008 that I joined the family adventure.
We are the guardians of our Gascon flavors and traditions that we are keen to share and pass on. Our animals are raised outdoors, force-fed with whole corn and we transform our ducks in our cannery following our "grandmother's" recipes, but shh it's a secret!!!
We welcome you to the farm every afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. You'll also find us at the Eauze and Barbotan markets.Don't hesitate to come and enjoy an authentic setting, in a place classified for orchids and turtles by Adasea (ponds and rivers La Douze). Recognized as a remarkable site, it appears in the Armagnac & d'Artagnan Tourist Office in the Grand Vert section. In the saddle, it is also part of the Evelo circuits offered by Bee in Lupiac, with 2 pleasant picnic tables for a lunch break without vis-à-vis on the roads, in the calm of the fields.
For your health, avoid eating too fatty, too sweet, too salty
