Pitoux House is a family story that began in 1960 in the heart of Gascony, with my Grandmother Denise. She began, like many at that time, to force-feed geese and ducks in order to sell them in the local fat markets. At the time it was only seasonal activity from mid-October to mid-March. It was only later that she specialized in making canned foie gras, confits and pâtés. Mireille, her daughter, took up the torch in 1989 and it was in 2008 that I joined the family adventure.
We are the guardians of our flavors and Gascon tradition that we are keen to share and pass on. Our animals are raised in the open air, force-feed whole corn and we transform our ducks in our cannery by following our "grandmother" recipes, but shhh it's a secret !!!
We welcome you to the farm every afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. You will also find us on the Eauze and Barbotan markets.Don't hesitate to come and enjoy an authentic setting, on a site classified for orchids and turtles by Adasea (ponds and the Douze river). Acknowledged as a remarkable site, it is listed by the Armagnac & d'Artagnan Tourist Office in the “Un Grand Vert” section. In the saddle, it's also one of the Evelo circuits proposed by Bee in Lupiac, with 2 pleasant picnic tables for a lunch break away from the roads, in the peace and quiet of the fields.
For your health, avoid eating too fatty, too sweet, too salty
