Château Cugnac, in Condom, is not a medieval castle in the classic sense of the term, but rather an elegant 18th-century mansion. This building, which belonged to the Ryst-Dupeyron family, is the birthplace of the Armagnac Cugnac Collection brand. It is an emblematic place for the production of Armagnac, one of the oldest eaux-de-vie in France. Its classical-style stone facade, extended by two wings, surrounds a paved courtyard, giving the place a sober yet majestic appearance.
Today, Château Cugnac is a must-see for wine lovers and the curious. It houses the century-old cellars of Maison Dupeyron, where precious vintages are preserved.
