The most beautiful ph ...

The Gers is a natural and authentic region, where life is good and relaxation is good. It's an ideal vacation spot for slow tourism. You'll appreciate taking the time to set down your camera and immortalize these moments of dolce vita. Between the rolling landscapes of the Gers wine region, the balcony overlooking the Pyrenees, and the rural and agricultural lands of the Portes de la Gascogne, there's no shortage of beautiful images for amateur photographers. Let's go for a photo road trip in the heart of the Gers.

Mystical or angelic photo in Romieu style

La Romieu is an important site on the Way of St. James, where pilgrims can pay their respects at the Collegiate Church of Saint-Pierre. This magnificent religious building is a must-have in any Gers souvenir album. But this medieval village has more than one trick up its sleeve. A stroll through the village is a must, following in the footsteps of the legend of Angeline and her cats... Unexpected and unusual photos await you!

Lectoure, an ode to medieval art and architecture

Lectoure is a " Town of Art and History " and it's no wonder, since it contains within its walls nearly forty monuments from the Middle Ages. At nightfall, you'll discover splendid views of the town's illuminated buildings. To contrast with these plays of light, head to the Ferme des Étoiles, one of the 8 best places in the world to admire the stars, according to the Guide du Routard.

Eauze, between Roman art and modern art

Éauze is an ancient city, Elusa. It has also been considered the capital of Armagnac since the Middle Ages. But it's also an astonishing open-air gallery of modern works! Indeed, graffiti decorates some of the city's streets. Moreover, the city is very cheerful and has a sense of humor. It hosts a "Roman Gallop Festival," a comic book festival during the summer, and festivals throughout the year. Suffice to say, you won't be disappointed by the photos you take there. It's up to you to find them...

Photo report in time in Larressingle

A visit to Larressingle is a true journey through time. The village's heritage is truly worth the detour, with its surrounding walls, towers and curtain walls, its 13th century castle and its entrance gates, worthy of a great medieval city... It's even nicknamed the "Little Carcassonne of the Gers". To extend your family outing, it hosts a reconstruction of a medieval siege camp during the summer! Perfect for taking photos of an extraordinary spectacle.

Dominant view of the Lomagne Valley, from Lavardens

Lavardens is a former " Castelnau " in the Lomagne Valley. It has passed from hand to hand and endured the ravages of time. Fortunately, its story has a happy ending, as the village has retained its tile huts and its castle has been restored. It was eventually classified as one of the " most beautiful villages in France", and its fortress has been transformed into an art center, with temporary exhibitions on a wide variety of themes. There's plenty to satisfy your tourist and photographic curiosity!

Unique meeting with d'Artagnan

Do you like swashbuckling novels and unusual photo opportunities? Condom is the place to go to take a photo with Alexandre Dumas's hero... or Lupiac to visit the museum dedicated to him. Don't forget that you're on the " Nature Balcony of the Pyrenees ," and the view of the Pyrenees mountains is sure to tickle your photographer's eye.

Perspective on the half-timbering of Sarrant

Sarrant is an old medieval village, very interesting from a cultural point of view. This typical Gers bastide is truly charming, with cobbled streets and well-preserved monuments. This is why it is one of the "most beautiful villages in France." You'll take classic photos here, but with beautiful perspectives on the curved lines of these streets, lined with half-timbered and timber-framed buildings.

Fourcès, a fortified town in the heart of the Gers countryside

Fourcès is the only fortified town in the Gers built on a circular plan. It offers multiple photographic opportunities, with its arboretum, medieval monuments, and viewpoints over the Auzoue River. The bridge at the entrance to the town, which spans the river, is particularly remarkable: a good photo spot combining rural scenery and medieval architecture.

Mauvezin from the upper town to the lower town, from heaven to earth

Mauvezin is a hilltop village, but it has the advantage of having two sides. The lower town is the economic heart, linked primarily to the land and agricultural and goose farming activities. The upper town is home to the lord of the manor and the nobility. From its magnificent castle, you'll enjoy the view stretching far across the valley. There's truly something to satisfy all your photography needs.
