The Auch Cathedral Treasure Museum, located in the heart of the Gers region, offers a fascinating insight into the region's religious and artistic history. Housed in annexes to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Sainte-Marie Cathedral, this museum exhibits nearly 200 objects and works of sacred art. Visitors can discover a rich collection of chalices, monstrances, reliquaries, and priestly ornaments, precious witnesses to the splendor and devotion of the past.
In addition to its collections, the museum offers a journey through time by allowing visitors to explore ancient spaces previously inaccessible to the public. Visitors can discover rooms from the former ecclesiastical court, dungeons and remains of the canon's quarters, including the former chapter house. This complex is a true interpretation centre which highlights the history of the cathedral and its surroundings, making it an essential stop for heritage and history lovers.
