    • Château Arton Haut-Armagnac in the Gers

Owner Harvester since 1991, in biodynamic and permaculture conversion

      Armagnac is not a brandy

It stands out in the spirits landscape because it preserves the vitality of wine. from which it comes. Its exquisite taste expresses all the aromatic power of the terroir. Our white lands of Haut-Armagnac AOC give our Armagnacs a unique mineral flavor which reveals aromas of flowers and fruits, an aromatic palette with perfect balance .

This originality leads Patrick de Montal to plant his vines to age his wine and Armagnac and to consider the vintage published as a "unique piece" as the most accomplished expression. At Arton, we have dedicated ourselves to developing the purest and most exceptional expressions of Armagnac. Everything, from the vine to the wine, from the wine to the Armagnac, must be carried out on the estate and in such a way as to best embody the terroir and the know-how of Arton. An expert in vintages and unique pieces, Château Arton is also the birthplace of the first white Armagnac, created in 1986.

After more than forty years spent developing a demanding and innovative wine culture, Patrick and Victoire de Montal have succeeded in giving their Gers estate its letters of nobility. From the creation of Fine Blanche® to the development of Armagnac vintages published as unique pieces, they have constantly defied prejudices, succeeding in raising their Haut-Armagnac to the rank of best French eau-de-vie in 2017 !

It is this exceptional story that their children Jean and Lili de Montal decided to continue by settling on the estate. Leaving Paris in turn, they brought a new ambition, a bold environmental initiative and a large-scale institutional and cultural project.

Château Arton Haut-Armagnac in the Gers, Owner Harvester since 1991, in biodynamic and permaculture conversion.

Tours, tastings and sales at the estate

Come and discover the wide aromatic palette of our wines during a guided tasting.

On the program: panoramic view of the vineyards, visit of the cellar where our Armagnacs are aged, tasting of our 7 wines (white, red and rosé), but above all of our Armagnacs from the Haut Armagnac appellation and the Excellence prize at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris.

We had a fantastic time at Domaine d’Arton. The estate is beautiful and welcoming, and the Armagnac tasting was excellent. Lili was so friendly and passionate, she explained each Armagnac clearly and made the experience very special. We left with a great memory and highly recommend a visit !

You will be taken care by talented, professional, and lovely people who are passionate about their craft. You will finally understand the difference between a brandy and an Armagnac and you will not make the mistake of comparing them again!
