80-year-old vines, the signature of the estate

Walk between the rows and observe these gnarled vines: on average, the vines are 80 years old. Their robustness is exceptional. Their roots plunge deep and concentrate everything needed to produce a benchmark wine, whether you are a connoisseur or simply passionate about fine bottles.

This enormous and rare capital of old vines is the strength of Château Barréjat.

A vineyard planted with grass since 1960, worked by hand

Beneath your feet, a carpet of grass: the vineyard has been completely grassed over since 1960. It is cultivated in a traditional way, and only materials of natural origin are used to amend the soil.

As the seasons change, you will discover the techniques that make all the difference:

• bud removal, leaf removal and green harvesting, which limit yields to a maximum of 55 hl/ha ;
• manual harvesting, practiced systematically to preserve each bunch and all its characteristics.

An underground barrel cellar, a craft since 1966

The winemakers take the utmost care in receiving the harvest. Since 1966, a dedicated grape reception area and an underground barrel cellar have allowed the harvest to be processed under optimal conditions. Here, you are in a place where the grapes are treated with respect from the vine to the vat, and then through to barrel aging.

Established at the Château since 1992, Denis Capmartin produces four wines, each perfectly balanced in quality. This allows you to choose the wine that best suits your occasion, your table, or your cellar. Over the years, the estate has distinguished itself and amassed an impressive collection of awards and medals.
