- On the road of the bastides and castelnaux, you will be attracted by this dungeon of 43 m high which dominates the landscape.
  Erected in 1370 by the nephew of Pope Innocent VI, it will make you dizzy but also the most beautiful 360° view over the valleys of the Gers!
  This masterpiece of military architecture has a defensive and residential construction with beautiful Gothic rooms, a spiral staircase of 197 steps serving the summit platform, its massive appearance is accentuated by the presence at the four angles of thick buttresses crowned by a belt of machicolations.

The donjon is excellent and impressive with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. However a lack of other attractions means that bassoues is only worth visiting for an hour or two.

The village's five-level dungeon dates from the 14th century. More than forty meters high, it is the work of Arnaud Aubert, nephew of Pope Innocent VI and has been listed as a historical monument. There are also other remains of this archeological castle of Auch, such as round towers with stained glass windows, outer walls or the well. Not far away, don't miss to admire the lobby and its latticework.

This Historic tower dominates the surrounding countryside, it is a big climb to the top and not suitable really for small children or the unfit. There are good exhibitions on several floors on the...

Visitedvthis tower end of july. Was lovely views of the local countryside and the small town. Enjoyed reading about the history of the place and learned a lot. A very nice and unexpected day.
