    • Bleu de Lectoure is an artisanal pastel blue, made in Lectoure, in the Gers

Also called " Dyers' Pastel" or "Wad Blue", it allows you to obtain exceptional shades of blue ! Formerly very popular for dyeing textiles, this magnificent color (a sign of nobility) was also used by painters and decorators throughout Europe!

Since 1994, Bleu de Lectoure has been promoting Pastel (Isatis Tinctoria) and in particular:

      • We cultivate 12 ha of pastel in organic farming which produces pigment and seeds, for the needs of the company...
      • The extraction and natural production (without chemicals) of pure pigment, for use in Fine Arts, decoration, the textile and manufacturing industry...
      • The manufacturing and 100% natural dyeing of a range of products ennobled by pigment (paints, cosmetics, clothing, household linen, etc.).

True artisans passionate about this unique color, we are always available to discuss and share our knowledge with you!

If you appreciate this color and would like to know more about this know-how, we invite you to discover our history and our products, by attending a detailed visit in the form of a conference (by reservation only), in our workshop-boutique in Lectoure, or by visiting our site and going to our online store.

You too, see life in blue and support us, so that artisanal dyeing made in France continues!

Thank you for your interest in us every day.

What a wonderful visit! We, the people of Toulouse, are already familiar with this beautiful blue. The hostesses' explanations delighted us, and watching the dyeing process was purely magical! Long live the chemical laws of oxidation! Thank you for this warm welcome; I'm going to take great care of my scarf because I now know all the many steps involved in making it. As for the Graines de Pastels hand cream, it's pure bliss. Thank you for your wonderful company!

Do not miss this stop! Truly passionate dye workers will show you the entire dye process for the Bleu de Lectoure. Beautiful handmade and hand dyed objects in the gift shop. Expensive because it's all locally sources and hand made. It takes 10 days to dye a scarf! My favorite spot in Lectoure

If you’re keen to learn about traditional dye crafts and processes, don’t hesitate to stop by Bleu de Lectoure who specializes in natural dyeing techniques, reviving age-old methods using plant-based pigments. They offer guided visits where the entire dyeing process is clearly explained—from sourcing natural materials to creating the final vibrant fabrics. If you’re lucky, the lovely Cece will be your guide—her explanations are clear, passionate, and full of insight. It’s a shame to hear they might not make it through to the next season—we sincerely hope someone will step in to keep this beautiful tradition alive.
