    • The Hauts De Montrouge cellar is located in Nogaro in the Gers (south-west of France). Created in 1963, it now brings together more than 60 peasant winegrowers who perpetuate the best wine-growing tradition over more than 900 hectares of vineyards.

Vines in Gascon Country, noble and traditional grape varieties

Made famous by D'Artagnan, the Gascon country offers a sandy ground to the vineyards of the hills of Nogaro. This inimitable terroir gives the grapes of the Côtes de Gascogne a strong and recognizable personality among all lovers of wines and spirits from the South-West.

The winegrowers cultivate noble and traditional grape varieties such as Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay, Colombard, Gros Manseng, Le Petit Manseng Merlot, Tannât and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Production: Armagnac, Floc de Gascogne, red, rosé and white wines…

Each Hauts de Montrouge wine is unique and represents the true potential of Gascony. The winegrowers, respectful of the environment, have long adopted sustainable viticulture practices.

Harvesting takes place when the grains are at optimum maturity; The winegrowers work cool, in the evening or early in the morning to preserve the freshness of the grapes, which are delivered in airtight boxes to the cellar and immediately pressed in pneumatic presses.

      Armagnac, several centuries of history

Armagnac is an integral part of the Gascon identity. The first mention of this brandy in writing dates back to 1310 and Armagnac has only gained in reputation over the centuries. Since 1936, Armagnac has been available in 3 AOCs corresponding to the three terroirs of Bac-Armagnac, Armagnac-Téranèze and Haut-Armagnac. The whole represents more than 15,000 hectares of vines.

Good and reasonable table wine, and Armagnac.

Extremely friendly welcome to the store. To walk the path of the vines... the explanatory booklet offered at the shop is very well done. Nice little walk. Allow 45 min max. The visit to the winery is interesting. The three copper stills are magnificent (in the names of the musketeers), an old traveling still to see. Excellent Armagnac. Above recommended age. The Cote de Gascogne rouge esquirolles is excellent and contrasts with competing offerings. A little older and therefore a little more aromatically finished. Detestable welcome, feeling of disturbing the person at reception who barely raises his head from behind his screen to give you information that you are forced to extract from him. No effort to introduce you to the products and give you explanations despite a large order of products. When you buy this type of rather festive product, you expect a little more conviviality.
