The ultra-local market of L’Isle-Jourdain

What a space! The traditional open-air market of L'Isle-Jourdain is entirely pedestrian, closed to traffic from 5 a.m. until 2 p.m. to allow exhibitors the joy of presenting their products. And it's a real spectacle since 130 traders, producers and artisans set up their stands on Place Gambetta, Place de l'Hôtel de Ville and the adjacent streets. Cheeses, fruits and vegetables, ducks and pastries, this is a good moment of sharing not to be missed every Saturday morning. Labeled “ TerraGers ”, it highlights the culture of the Gers thanks to banners “ Closer, fresher, truer ” which indicate the producers of the region. Don't forget your basket before going to the market.

The unmissable Mirande market

This traditional market is an institution that has been going on since 1281. We might as well tell you that the Gersois know it by heart and don’t miss this Monday morning gourmet meeting for anything. Installed under the market halls, under the arches and on the central square, the Mirande market promotes proximity, conviviality and good humor. The short circuit is prioritized with producers from the region who sell their products directly, most often displaying the “ Closer, fresher, truer ” banner of markets labeled “ TerraGers ”. Vegetables, wines, cheeses, fruits, honey, ducks and foie gras can be found on the fragrant and colorful stalls of the Mirande market, a good time for exchange and sharing.

The bustling Gimont market

Every Wednesday morning , the village comes to life and brightens up from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the traditional market which takes place under the large market hall. Fresh and quality products, there is enough to fill your basket with cheese, honey, fruit, vegetables, duck and freshly baked bread. Fill your nostrils with good smells and salivate in front of these stalls with their many colors. Recipes, tips and good humor , the exhibitors are like the Gers, generous and welcoming. The South-West accent sings and laughter rises in the aisles of the Gimont market. Come and enjoy it, you can even watch this pretty ballet from the terrace of a café.
